Lovely, lovely people, I have a request. Are any of you possibly interested in beta-ing/looking over the next part of the Downloaded series (points up to the masterpost)? We're doing it for the ST Big Bang, and I feel rather guilty dumping about 30K of fic solely on the shoulders of my lovely and talented beta because it's quite a lot to sort through, and I'd also like some more eyes on it.

Rating: R for some smut toward the end

Summary: Written for space_married, in which Jim orders a mail order partner and gets Bones. Needless to say, things get off to a rough start.

This is set in Chicago, mainly because I'm originally from the Great Lakes region and love that particular city very much. Therefore, I just had to set a fic there.

Bones baking pecan pie is admittedly inspired by this lovely fic by blcwriter. Read it and you, too, will consider Bones' love of pecan pie canonical.

Notes: Written for this prompt at the STXI Kink Meme, although it does stray somewhat from the original prompt. Kirk and McCoy are lovers, but McCoy dies which plunges Kirk into a crippling depression. In order to prevent Kirk from being so incapacitated he's permanently removed from command, Spock erases Kirk's memories of his life with McCoy - but there are some things that can't be forgotten.

Summary: Massive AU, as in the Federation doesn't even exist and Earth's First Contact with an alien species didn't go too well. As a result, humans are pretty much all slaves, as they're not seen as being good for much else. The Vulcans don't approve of this, but in order to keep the peace there's not much they can do about the situation.

That doesn't mean that things don't get complicated when Spock and McCoy cross paths.
Warnings: Dub-con, but nothing all that graphic.

Notes: Written for the first round of trek_exchange, this is my first attempt at Spock/McCoy. Sincere thanks to my lovely betas, anxiety_junkie and alder_knight who helped so much with plot and especially characterization. I usually don't write in Spock's POV, and they helped me get a better handle on him.
